Head of Technical Operations – Large Scale Solar PV, South-East UK, competitive salary on offer for the right candidate in the range of £45,000 – 55,000 per annum, plus car/allowance

One of Europe’s fastest growing providers of O&M services on large scale solar farms is looking for a strategic new hire to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to move onto a responsible role with broad remits and key impact on the company’s operation.

The role

The company is looking for a Head of Technical Operations to join their staff and take on full responsibility for managing the O&M on a fleet of solar PV plants.  The company has a wealth experience throughout Europe, however, has only been operating in the UK for around 12 months so you'll need a flexible approach and be comfortable helping shape systems / strategy

You will be tasked with overseeing the portfolio’s day-to-day operation, supervising field-based and technical personnel, and managing any functional issues that arise pertaining to the plants.

Finally, you will also be responsible for reporting directly to the MD of the company, as well as the clients and owners of the plants, updating frequently on their plant’s operation.

The person

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with prior experience of managing the operations & maintenance on large scale solar – this is an absolute must.

You will be very familiar with potential issues relevant to MW-scale plants, and will have a strong technical aptitude pertaining to the components and day-to-day functions of the assets.

Finally, you will need a degree of commercial savvy – managing budgets, preparing and reports, and handling clients – you need to be able to present well in any scenario.

Essential requirements
  • At least 3 years of MW-scale solar PV experience
  • Prior experience in managing or carrying out O&M
  • Familiar with various Solar components – panels, inverters
  • Formal qualifications in electrical works – 17th edition, etc. – will be a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be comfortable in an evolving environment
  • IT Literacy
  • Full UK Driving license
  • Eligible to work in the UK
Remuneration

A competitive salary package is on offer for the right candidate, in the range of £45,000 – 55,000 per annum, plus company vehicle or car allowance.
