Contracts Manager (FAC) – solar asset management, London. United Kingdom, £50,000 - £60,000 + bonus

This is a great opportunity for a solar professional with solid technical and commercial skills to manage the FAC process for a leading solar asset management firm. 


The Contracts Manager (FAC) will ensure that solar PV projects are diligently managed through the  in-house FAC process. In time, it is envisaged that the role will also support construction sites moving into operations so there’s exciting growth potential in the job.
The role will encompass the following, although this may vary according to business needs: 
  • Contract management
    Identification and resolution of plant defects:
    Ensuring a complete suite of plant documentation
  • Project management of plants through in-house FAC sign-off stage gates
  • Completing relevant contractual/technical conditions to pass FAC
  • Closure
Specifically you will work with EPCs / technical advisors / business units to complete outstanding actions post issuing FAC.
  • Manage release of retention amounts to EPC
  • Collate evidence to sign-off outstanding items
  • Track expenditure where relevant and release of retention monies held to EPCs 
Travel within the UK will be required and potentially international travel in the future. 
About you 
  • You will have experience of managing contracts and understanding contractual obligations and legal positions, preferably from an EPC or asset management perspective.
  • You will have experience of negotiating a commercial outcome to contractual issues.
  • You will have experience of managing Final Acceptance Certification (“FAC”) in relation to solar PV plants or have equivalent ‘take-over’ experience from contractor to owner 
  • You will have experience of managing resource allocation and advisors of post-FAC items 
  • You will have experience of attending and presenting at Board/Investment Committees
  • An understanding of the renewable energy industry and broader asset management industry (e.g. EPC & owner/asset owner relationship; owner/fund, asset manager, EPC, O&M provider and ancillary partners; legal, etc) would be beneficial 
  • You will have good time management and able to prioritise workload 
  • You will be professional and confident (verbal and written) and capable of discussing and raising contractual matters internally and externally to stakeholders/EPCs with the ability to lead meetings, sometimes on contentious matter 

Base salary in the range £50,000 - £60,000 + bonus and benefits
